Excluding fraud, ONS recorded 5.2 million offences in the year ending March 2026, down 1% on the previous year; fraud reporting was suspended during the move to a new national reporting system in December 2025.
Police recorded violence without injury — England & Wales

Violence without injury recorded by police rose 2% in the year ending March 2026. Over the same period violence with injury fell 3% to 507,169 offences and police recorded 499 homicides, down 7%. Recording practice changes affect comparability over longer periods.
Police recorded crime — Northern Ireland

Recorded crime by the Police Service of Northern Ireland, financial year. 2024/25 was the second lowest total since the series began in 1998/99 — 50 crimes per 1,000 population against 87 in England and Wales, with 13 murders recorded.
