Cut net migration — publish the target or admit there isn't one
Net migration has run at historic highs since 2022 while voters were promised the opposite. Manifesto lines are not policy. We want a number, a deadline, and named ministers answerable for missing it.
Our specific ask
A statutory annual net migration target, quarterly progress reported to Parliament, and a ministerial statement every time it is missed.
Evidence base
- ONS puts net migration at 171,000 in the year ending December 2025, down from a peak of 944,000 in YE March 2023 — with no statutory target behind either number.
- Successive manifestos promised lower migration and delivered no costed plan, no target and no consequence for failure.
